"Ghana Health Declaration Form." This is a legal statement by the government of Ghana, representing its commitment to achieving an AIDS-free nation. The Health Declaration is 1 part of the international AIDS declaration. I'd like to have a moment to talk about what the HIV/AIDS announcement means for Ghana. It essentially says that the government of Ghana has opted to have a public health strategy to AIDS, and is dedicated to implement an action plan according to those plans. In other words, they will make certain there are no gaps in protection and treatment.

Now let us look at the Ghana health declaration form. There are eight important pillars of action it addresses. They are: To implement a successful public health program, ensuring access to quality health services; providing access to economic and social programs aimed at improving the status of women and young men; implement programs focused on tribal and rural people; ensure that HIV/AIDS incidence is reduced among the different groups of individuals; work towards creating an environment which encourages family planning; also, execute policies that reduce poverty and improve access to higher education. By looking closely at those in the context of Ghana, we could observe a few interesting gaps in coverage that may be addressed.

The first column would be to implement a successful public health program. So, how does this fit in with all the Ghanaian model? In Accra, the head of every district or"local wellness office" could have responsibility for coordinating all of the various health businesses within their region of responsibility. By way of instance, say you had a disease outbreak in the rural sector of Ghana. If your local health office did not match with the General Medical Council of Ghana, or the Department of Public Health, and if your county wasn't included in the national roll out, you wouldn't have the ability to get an HIV/AIDS test result, or some kind of cheap AIDS medication.

How could this fit into the context of an accreditation process? Well, the Ghanaian Government has drawn up a five year program for AIDS prevention and therapy known as the Accra Compact. The compact provides for treatment and testing centers which are licensed by the Ghanaian Ministry of Health and is supported by ministries of the Federal Government in addition to by non-government organizations and people. This is simply one example of the way the Ghana Government is integrating itself with the neighborhood to deal with the issue of STD and HIV. It is also providing support to the nationwide roll out of the long excursion program which includes directions for communities to implement safety measures like washing hands thoroughly before drinking out of any body of water and for teachers to inform students about safe sex.

These statements, while quite basic in nature may be a catalyst for other initiatives on the long trip agenda. By way of instance, a pupil in my practice in Accra recently came out with the bold statement"I will see what I can do to make this trip a success". This statement caught my attention since, to my knowledge, no black pupil in any portion of the planet has made this explicit commitment to a cause, especially one focused on finishing a lengthy excursion via a third world nation.

In his statement he went on to say that he was planning to maintain all of his personal hygiene issues in mind and not go swimming where his bare feet had been exposed to water. He also said he was planning to be sure he didn't use any of the numerous free practices in presence in Ghana. He went on to state that he was conscious there were no doctors available to assist him if he get ill or any medical aid was needed.
